My water heater is leaking from the bottom. What now?

Turn off the cold water valve on top of the tank and set the gas control to "off" (or flip the breaker on an electric unit). A leak from the tank body usually means the tank needs replacing; a leak from the drain valve or relief valve is often a smaller repair. Call us and we'll tell you which one it sounds like.

Where is my main water shutoff?

In most Thornton homes it's in the basement or crawlspace on the wall closest to the street, where the line comes through the foundation, often next to the meter. If you can't find it or it won't turn, call us. A seized main valve is one of the most common things we replace.

Will I know the price before you start?

Yes. We diagnose the problem, explain what's wrong, and give you a price. Work starts only after you say yes.

How do I keep pipes from freezing this winter?

Disconnect garden hoses, shut off and drain exterior spigots if they aren't frost-free, and keep cabinet doors open on outside walls during cold snaps. If a pipe does freeze, don't use an open flame on it. Call us and we'll thaw it safely and check it for splits.
